The idea of Channel Mountain had been conceived and established in 2000 by a seasoned writer, journalist, anthropologist, social worker, and documentary filmmaker Jayprakash Panwar ‘JP’ and conceptually supported by an eminent cinematographer M.S.Dang ‘Bittu’. Later on, with the generous support of friends, CM has shaped as a media organization. It is the first production firm/company in Uttarakhand, which launched a New Media concept to provide a complete package of digital communication services, training, and consultancy in the state. Since its setting up, CM has provided professional services for the production of films, documentaries, news, short films, advertisements, promos, television programs, music albums, audios, radio programs, visual documentation, and publications.
On the other hand, CM also has imparted media training, internship, workshops, seminars, and mass communication events in the state. The prime motto of CM is to restore, preserve and document land, people, ecology and environment, history, and culture in the digital age. Since its establishment, CM has been engaged in audio-visual and print production for public entertainment, education, and mass awareness and provided his services to a number of Government, non-government organizations, and institutions, private and individuals at the state and national level.
