Puerto Galera Awaits

Just a few hours from Manila, Puerto Galera awaits with its mesmerizing turquoise waters, tiny sandy beaches, and hills draped in swaying coconut trees. It’s pure paradise—a diver’s dream teeming with underwater wonders! If you’re a newbie to diving, don’t fret! They’ll whisk you to a pool for a quick training session before taking you to the deep blue. I asked the key diving question: “What skills do I need?” Spoiler alert: be comfy in the water! The rest—like mastering this breathing thing and clearing water from your mask—only takes a few minutes! How motivating, right?
But here’s the million-dollar question: why didn’t I dive in? Well, I hit a wall of travel fatigue and opted for an afternoon nap (very uncharacteristic of me!). After waking up refreshed, I soaked in the sunset on a long walk, all while savouring a banana split for dinner. I ended the day with a soothing massage, serenaded by the rhythm of rain and thunderstorms. Now I’m left pondering… was “tiredness” a valid excuse for skipping diving? Was I dodging my fears? Is age creeping up on me? But who cares?! What matters is that I had an awesome day!
