Spread the love

Aditi Ghosh

I have not been on a jungle safari.. these are the photos taken on my office travel. I have to cross the vast Yala National Park every time I visit our field office at Monaragela. The entire 350km journey is scenic but my favorite stretch is when I pass through Yala National Park, Colombo, Srilanka. I am lucky to meet and greet the mighty elephants every time – as if they just wait and pose for me! And then a herd of deer – sometimes swiftly running pass the road! You should have your foot on the brake.

The district of Monaragela which is bordering the park, as the name suggests, is the place of Monar (peacock). You see the large happy families of peacock, peahen all around. Though it takes me 5 – 6 hrs of drive to reach there all these surprises on the way make my journey so enjoyable.
