My Dear Bangkok
Aditi Gosh
For me, Bangkok is like coming back home. This time I was lucky to meet my professor and leadership guru, Lalit from Oxford University along with a senior alumni, Sukanya from Thailand. We had exciting discussions over amazing Thai food. Learned interesting things like the famous Thai chain restaurant “Laem Charoen” is actually “Ramcharan”. Introduced to a new dessert cafe- After You. It is an experience in itself. It is the ultimate pleasure of dessert the girl takes after being ditched by her boyfriend ( the fictional story). Though Lalit said nothing can beat Bengali dessert misti doi and it is so affordable!
Bangkok is a perpetually bustling and lively city. This past week has been incredibly hectic, leaving me with only a few hours of sleep to fit in everything I wanted to accomplish. The constant buzz and activities in Bangkok just engulf you. From excellent medical facilities to cutting-edge technology, the city never fails to impress me. There are things which also concern me. A recent addition to that list is Cannabies. It is everywhere.
You can easily cover 10,000 steps here effortlessly just by running for daily errands. However, you gain more calories than you burn by indulging in all culinary delights. While these days I find solace in the tranquil environment of Colombo (Sri Lanka), Bangkok offers a refreshing change of pace. With just one more day left before bidding farewell to my former home, I reflect on the whirlwind of experiences and memories.
