Europe Travel Dairy (Salzburg) – 1

Schloss Leopoldskron is known to many as the former home for renowned theater personality & cofounder of Salzburg Festival Max Reinhardt, many recognize this as a lake from the great film “Sound of Music”. Feeling proud and blessed to be selected to attend Salzburg Global Seminar as an Impact Fellow along with another 50-plus international thought leaders from India, Japan, USA, China, Tunisia, and Europe at the amazing campus of Schloss Leopoldskron, Salzburg/Austria.
Built-in 1736 by Salzburg Prince based on the drawing of a Scottish Benedictine Monk, the Salzburg Global story began after World War II in 1947, when Europe was in the midst of recovering from a devastating war and poor economy. The idea to rebuild the world with intellectual dialogue came to three young men from Harvard, who believed and worked to bridge the divide through this initiative.
Initially designed as “Salzburg Seminar in American Civilization”, is now working for other Asian, European, and African Studies. At this place, only Magaret Mead also coined the popular phrase “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Since 1947 more than 40000 fellows from more than 170 countries were involved and when this prestigious program is celebrating its 75th anniversary, I feel privileged to be part of this in 2023 for “Japan India Transformative Technology Network 2023”, where many eminent figures have led and taken part in Salzburg Global Sessions.
Its Alumni include luminaries from a Diverse variety of sectors i.e. art, humanities, politics, finance, economy, etc., a few of them are- Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Former UN General Secretary Kofi Annan, Former World Bank CEO, VP of European Commission Kristaline and Former PM Australia Kevin Rudd & many more.
Staying here at 17 acres of manicured ground of Schloss Leopoldskron for a week with global change-makers from all over was a lifetime n life-changing experience for me. Special thanks to the Salzburg Global Seminar Team n Nippon Group for supporting this program.
Love n Care from amazing Salzburg/Austria
