A Door leads To Parliament Chamber

This elegantly embellished silver door leads you to the Parliament Chamber. It is open for ceremonial entry only. The door is inscribed in the style of ancient rock inscriptions the preamble to the Constitution of Sri Lanka in Sinhala, Tamil and English. On the borders are carved attractive lotus designs and decorative motifs which depict the art of ancient Sri Lanka. This special entrance, usually off limits to the public, is surrounded by wall space covered with multi-dimensional jungle scenes carved in mahogany. It was such a treat to my eyes.
