Ganesh Saili’s much awaited new book soon will be hands of his fond lovers. “Wanderings through the Garhwal Himalay” is new title of his book published by Niyogi Books. The Garhwal Himalaya have always been much more than lumps of rock and ice – an enigma, a constant companion for travellers and explorers. This book is a gripping study of this incredible part of the Himalaya, which will make you want to be out there in the mountains amid sleet, snow, rain and wind.


About Author

Author and photographer, Ganesh Saili was born and brought up in the hills of Mussoorie where he lives. For four decades he has researched and trekked the Himalayas capturing in words and film the all-defying beauty of these regions. Numerous periodicals, journals and twenty books, (some translated into twenty-four languages) are a testimony to a love for his roots. After his widely acclaimed Mussoorie Medley, Gupp and Gossip from the Hills reveals a hill-resort that is not yet another Peyton Place, but it slowly seems to be getting there. Settled atop a spur on Landour’s Mullingar hill, he has had the good fortune of living in the mountains, seeing the changing facets of the hill resort. He is a close friend of Ruskin Bond for four decades and more. He has taught English and American literature at Mussoorie’s post-graduate college.
