Bhangarh Fort in the deserted town of Bhangarh (Rajasthan)on the lap of Aravali, is said to be one of the most haunted historical places in the world.

About the town of Bhangarh, it was established in 1573 by King Bhagwant Das who had two sons. His elder son was Man Singh, the famous General of Mughal Emperor Akbar and the younger one was Madho Singh. Bhagwant Das developed Bhangarh as the residence of his younger son Madho Singh who lived and ruled Bhangarh his whole life.

Many myths are related to this haunted fort. There is a belief that no one can dare to go there after sunset. More you talk to locals, you get a feeling that these are nothing but stories. No doubt, the fort’s architecture is beautiful and stands as testimony to a past grandeur era. It reminded me of the Ephesus from Turkey ( Rajesh vehemently disagreed though) but I guess it may not have all the history to it like the Romans. What I enjoyed the most was the drive to Bhangarh!
